     @Ripsnort @pogrommer I lost track of him for a couple years because I never really had time to look into music I liked in my teens to see if they had made anything new. so when I quit to focus on poast, I would spend some time catching up and recently I did this with NOFX and I was disgusted. I think 2006's wolves in wolves' clothing was the last OK release and it went downhill from there
     
     there's an interview recently (where the screenshot in this thread came from) where he talks multiple times about his "dom" boyfriend its really offputting

     @graf @pogrommer Separation of church and skate is a certified banger, I don't think I've ever heard the rest of the album. Obviously political commentary's a fundamental part of punk, but when it's just distilled "this specific man bad cause he thinks different then me" and the message is delivered with zero subtlety (like having your album cover just be bush in clown makeup) it just comes off like partisan biased whining, like you unironically think some other retard in Washington can do a better job. Same thing happened with r.e.m. in the late 80s when they became Dukakis's personal dick washers.

I get everyone around that time was quick to jump on the Dubya Bush bashing because he was such an easy target, but he was one of the first leftists that took it to such an obnoxious extent that I just started getting sick of hearing about how Bush was the devil. That was really the beginning of the end for "reasonable" liberals in america.

     @graf @EllisDee I feel the same way man. I still think The Decline is one of the best long form songs out there even though I disagree with most of the lyrics. It's just fast and a good song to scream in the car at midnight when you're 19 and on a road trip.

Static-X's 1999 "Wisconsin Death Trip" paved the way for Disturbed's 2000 "The Sickness" (the one with the album art where David Draiman is emerging from a foreskin) and others in the 2000-2002 range. very influential band of the time
