It's mutual concern :laughing_cirno:
but there are people who found job through fediverse as well, so I am sure I am not alone. Even though it's quite exceptional in general. I mean fedi is where we met and then became coworkers, not the other way around

It depends on the branches. Although I am somewhat working in the IT sector, I am not coding so the chances of me finding a job or a coworker through fedi are abysmal.
I work for a rather big corpo in a project related to an even bigger corpo so I would have a lot of reasons to be concerned.

On the other hand, I am not sure how big that concern would be as I literally told a GM last time we have been drinking together. That the reason why I am taking offs on a specific day is because I got Kanmusu's birthday on that day, if he wants he can join me for a grill I don't mind, because such a good ship deserves to be honored and he will do so maybe she will share some of her luck with him :blobfoxcaptain:

I mean most colleagues I have are good, but they are just plain boring and their ideas of entertainment don't satisfy me as it is something I used to do in school, meaning going to parties or getting drunk etc.
It just feels sometimes as if they were typical European students despite them being in their 30s-40s.
I mean imagine they tell me about school time and i tell em " Well cool I was in a street gang, I had 5 people under my command, could be even more but i didn't want to move on in the hierarchy."
I did tell some stories to some colleagues of mine, for fun factor though. Like f.e how my friend on a boat was sentenced for arson and selling cocaine so he had to change his identity in order to go to USA.

@NaiJi @Shirei @Nishi @Relected @duponin I'm at work to work, not to fraternize

@Shirei @Nishi @Relected @coolboymew @duponin Yeah many such cases, I had hard time connecting to coworkers at my previous place, at least from age gap. And it was a bit sad, because I really value it when you can be sincerely friendly with people you work with, at least lets you hate you work less when you have tasks you don't wanna do.
But cooler talks about cars or fishing were always killing me :cringingcat:

Oh well for me, I don't want to be connected to them. I am just here to do the job and get money. I just did an evaluation and all you know. Also the higher you go the more politics come into play etc. etc.
Plus I know that I am also not a soft person and while with some stranger who you thought could be your friend, you can just tell a person to fuck off, or even move silently as you gave up on them with a colleague you also can do so but you still have them at the workplace which leave the conflict not fully resolve. F.e one time I had a situation when I wanted to do a grill with one colleague but he kept being very whimsical and changing plans last moment basically just because someone else called him etc (ya know nice guy, can't say no). So I had to tell him that we are not bambinos and need to respect each other's time.
In total, the demand for being able to count on someone is too big and the price of the mistake is too high when trying to make friends with colleagues so I am mostly distant. I have one person I got to know since my first day in Poland and I keep a connection with this person although not as close as it used to but I appreciate the person as he has been around when it was the most difficult time and I couldn't even speak the language.

Also, this is not my colleague just a guy I used to share a rental with. He helped me to learn Polish, I helped him to stop simping and doing some other stupid shit with his life. Sounds like a fair trade to me. Although he might be doing it again as we are not in that close touch anymore but he seems to be doing better anyway.

Usually, if someone tells me how cool I am and they would like to maybe do some stuff together etc. I just leave them my phone number. Works like a charm, they never contact and you know the person is not to be trusted.
