     They've had to delist a 'Angry Bird Trilogy" 2$ app (no Microtransactions) because it's performing better than their microtransaction hell

     @mimorinka @1ns0mniak complete mystery. Rovio seemed to do badly themselves. They recently delisted a 2$ "Angry Bird trilogy" app that had no microtransactions because it was interfering with their other games. Also the company loses a lot of valuation from the days where Zynga wanted to purchase them for 3+ billions
     
     My big guess is that it was the most affordable company for Sega, which has constantly failed in the mobile business. I remember a few years ago some news about their apps constantly failing and announcing new ones. People were calling out Sega and saying they're "throwing shit until it sticks" (an idiom)
     
     I've been very critical of Sega in the past 10 years as many of their decisions are simply baffling
     
     Sonic 2006 was a disaster. Them releasing it unfinished as it is basically started the general perceptions that Sonic are shitty broken games. On top of that the game missed Nintendo platforms, in which Sonic games were proven to outsell other consoles by more than twice the amount, even despite the low Gamecube userbase
     
     There's other baffling stuff like it took NIS to actually finally release a translation Sakura Wars to the west. Which, talking about Sakura Wars, it was a huge franchise in Japan, wasn't it? It was ignored for years and then brought back under a different genre. Very bad business decision
     
     Also, Steam used to not have big publisher Japanese games. IIRC, Valkyria Chronicles 1 was one of the first few to come to steam and it sold crazy numbers in a short time. Then Sega never brought the rest and let the series dies until it released 4 randomly
     
     Then there's the popular Skies of Arcadia with no sequels and still no new port
     
     They took like 10 years? to release PSO2 in the west. Also no new Phantasy Star games
     
     Sega is doing an immensely bad job at maintaining their IPs so it's not a big surprise to see their mobile games fails either

     @coolboymew Not necessarily retarded. Rovio had been seeking buyers after Playtika talks ended. Sega can have good use for Rovio's expertise in cornering Western mobile markets – conversely Sega can help Rovio to expand into console and PC gaming.

     @coolboymew @1ns0mniak I agree with mostly what you said, this SEGA's acquisition is completely mystery to me
     their parent company , CSK holdings are bought by 住友 holdings 2011 so Sega&Sammy is now held by one of Japanese former Zaibatsu groups, before that they were about to be dead so it was good for them in short term supposedly.
     but as you've said I don't think they could have managed their IPs .
     
     hmm possibly they have some ideas with AngryBird's IP for arcade enterprise business but I'm also highly doubt about their move and effectiveness , and seems market also skeptical more than me.
     
     I think SEGA is now publisher , not a game developing company anymore, unfortunately they are so behind at publishing..

     @coolboymew @mimorinka @coldacid Like with Nintendo, it's complicated. As big of a dick as Sony was, you could definitely make good money working with/under them. Maybe the balance has tipped against Sony over the years as the demands get heavier and the comparative benefits get lighter, and the whole moving decision making from Japan to America thing.
