We’re very gullible. I think guys don’t look forward 20 years to think about the ramifications of a whore raising their kids, because it’s gonna introduce friction when she says “oh I partied and lived it up, look how I turned out! Let her live a little!”
Also most are hopelessly addicted to porn, and imagine female sexuality is the same, so a girl doing this kind of thing will end up engaging in enthusiastic, frequent sex to sate his addiction

I installed Pop!OS on a laptop this weekend and every piece of hardware "just worked", whereas this Windows 10 install I'm running on my work computer has somehow forgotten how to display image previews in Explorer after the last (forced) midnight update. -
Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks (washedoutgundampilot@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 11-Apr-2023 03:07:20 JST Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks @caekislove @Elliptica We were just talking about that one, someone said his POP won’t let him drag files into other applications, so he always has to go through the file tree.
There’s always some odd niggles, they show up when you do more things. I have one comp running it and I’ve just left the audio channel on wired now, because changing the output blows the speakers with max-output glitchy static for some reason. Also doing screengrabs over 3 hrs ends up making a file that can’t be opened, everything freezes and shuts down.
But the more you work with it the better you can get it. After a while it ends up more stable than windows, in any case. Though the pop app store uses up a TON of Ram. Last I looked mine was using 1.2gb just being idle and open. They said they’re fixing it though.

Anime Wong (elliptica@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 11-Apr-2023 03:07:21 JST Anime Wong @WashedOutGundamPilot Sure, but it's still not sustainable. The biggest issue is that there are too many projects that don't work together. Looking at OS's alone, pretty much everything works within windows, and possible Mac (a bit more hit or miss that windows, but not by much). Linux struggles to even continue support for software and hardware from 6 years ago, let alone maintaining or implementing more advanced features that most commercial OS's have along side legacy support. -
Anime Wong (elliptica@poa.st)'s status on Tuesday, 11-Apr-2023 03:08:39 JST Anime Wong @caekislove @WashedOutGundamPilot I had more luck with Pop! than most.
A bit of a story, but a while ago I bought a used Lenovo Thinkpad 2in1 laptop. The windows license was messing with me, so I tried linux. Most use to mint distro, and even though it once supported the tablet screen, it stopped. Pop was better about it, but there were other issues with the hardware. If I wanted to use all of the features of the tablet easily, I had to go back to windows. So it's better in some ways (such as not having to install wifi card drivers), it's not perfect.Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this. -

Unfortunately, most of those men now end up trooning out of working for Google or Twitter.

I have no idea where you got this idea. There are plenty of younger people working at a very low level and pursuing high performance, robustly engineered code. The relevant information is far more accessible now than it was 10 years ago, let alone 30. That slice of humanity will nevertheless remain *very small* because *very few* people have the mental horsepower for the work.
So much hardware control being concentrated in the hands of like three megacorps is the big problem, not lack of interest by people under 50. Nerds are not predominantly hacking away on 40 year old hardware because that's all they want to do, it's because the newer stuff is almost completely unapproachable. -
