     I don't use it for doing the actual statistical stuff it's supposed to be good for. I just eat awk and shit tsv.

     @RedTechEngineer @nyanide Yeah, really nice for plotting once you get the runes right. Allegedly, it can talk to Postgres directly but I've never tried it; I just have Postgres spit out a TSV file or I make awk emit one.

     I don't know why you'd think I'm using or suggesting a different version of R. Unless I am mistaken, the R Foundation just packages up a lot of extra stuff like Shiny and RStudio and I don't want an IDE or a web framework, I just want write a script or use a REPL; my machine already is an IDE.
