     I've been watching a lot of electronics repair videos recently (as a substitute for not being able to do any electronics) and it seems that voltage injection is the Cool New Thing everyone is doing, but half the videos about it are yelling at people for doing it wrong.

     The point of voltage injection is to make the shorted component heat up and reveal itself
     Obvious the best way to do this is to MAKE IT DISSIPATE FIVE WATTS OF POWER

     @foone They really used to do this on service calls when servicing minicomputers in the 70's and 80's. They'd put the suspect card on a card extender, use a fire extinguisher on the board, then power the unit up. The chip that heated up first (and melted the snow from the extinguisher) was usually the bad one.
