if I keep buying basketballs it's going to become a problem. They're very awkward to store. Imagine being a guy with one of those school gym bags full of balls in his home. What a psychopath. Worse than animu figurines.
-
@deadheat I just think they're neat
-
@crunklord420 Why are you buying basketballs?
-
@deadheat mostly for bouncing and throwing. They all kinda feel and bounce different.
-
@crunklord420 Like they are a great work of craftsmanship that has intrinsic beauty?
-
@crunklord420 I like how you are pretty honest about how you just like to play around with basketballs instead of saying that you use them for some sort of special training or something like that
-
@colonelj @deadheat I thought about it but it seems dumb. I could get a weight trainer basketball but muh. I just need to do my shooting with my weak arm because I think I'm developing an asymmetry in my shoulders and lats. I got some matching dumbbells so I can try to find asymmetrical weaknesses. It's hard to feel if you're truly pulling/pushing symmetrically when doing calisthenics.

@crunklord420 @deadheat replace with medicine balls

@i there's one boomer on YouTube who just posts endless of videos of his 20min solo sesh with a new basketball each time. He claims to have 150 basketballs.
I imagine this is how he stores them.

@deadheat @colonelj I remember when I was doing ledge pull ups on vacation and my dominant hand was getting torn up way quicker than my weaker hand. Is that because I pulling harder on my dominant side? Maybe. It felt symmetrical to me.
But now I'm up doing like 50 reps of penalty shots on a single arm. I just gotta start doing more weak arm practice.

@crunklord420 @colonelj
>I think I'm developing an asymmetry
I never thought about it, but it makes sense. I do lots of push ups, I'm now concerned about this. I think exercising each arm with the dumbbells as much as you do the calisthenics would probably keep it balanced right? Damn.
-
@colonelj @deadheat nope, last time I tried a one arm dead hang it was surprisingly hard. I'd rather just do weighted. Plus I'm busy with frog-stand and front lever progressions.
-
@crunklord420 @deadheat can you do one handed pullups yet?
