     Split the difference. "Magwell grip" isn't stable and the "c-clamp" grip will make you tired quicker. You want to push as far out as possible but do it comfortably.
     
     And don't run your stock collapsed all the way either! That's only for storage.

     I always liked a heavier barrel with a good trigger and go lightweight on everything else when possible. Optics, lights, and IR lasers/illuminators are "force multipliers" so they're worth the weight.

     Put a mini red dot on top of your scope and save the canted sights for backup.
     
     For an AR, the ACOG+T2/RMR setup is the way right now. I run my stuff on QD mounts and have buis in the normal location to keep it ambi. If your ACOG and your Aimpoint fail, you're probably already dead anyways.

Fits a wider variety of shooters and helps w/ target acquisition, most of all it provides the greatest engagement distance since half the time it’s taking out predators in the grass.

     The good news is that acogs don’t seem to have that price premium like they used to. I think my last one was like, $450 from a buddy selling his off

When in reality its a lot of people that played Battlefield and because you only get 2 attatchment slots, they have to be useful. Instead of, like, just a flip up iron behind your optic.

     Yeah the early stuff was pretty heavy. Now it seems like the rifles are heavier and the accessories are lighter.
