     @Terry This is a worthwhile read, good little overview of the level of involvement the feds gave to locals. It's worth reviewing so we know the politics that will decide it. Chances are they'll put your uncle on the board, that adds a new dynamic to rebellion when the only people of the regime are friends & family

     Also funny how they keep moving the goals. "we just need 12 months, kid, no married men, no fathers", then "well we need 18 months, we'll get you home within 6 mo of the war ending" suddenly it's 2.5 years post war and they're extending the drafts to keep you in the grist

     @Terry Okay now we're getting to the meat. I think a lot of this is pointless, since it's all predicated on being able to drum up supoooooooooorrt by threatening a chink invasion of california. Even then, few of the kids would care that much, but it's a huge wheel-greaser for anything genX and older

     @Terry Taken together there's an interesting point in the wings here: They may know they're on a time limit, so they could draft as many white men as possible, fill up the stockades for the slaughter, all before the supreme court finally tells them to recruit from their favorite nig-races in "equal" measure. The military would be lining up as many of us as they can knowing the music will stop any minute now, so you really wouldn't want to be one of the gullible rubes who happily signs up in the first 6 months of the war

     this is what zoomers do with mail: pile it up somewhere and eventually throw the whole pile in the trash, unopened. possibly pile it on the stove and accidentally set it on fire.
     apparently some places in the US can't even get 50% of people to show up for jury duty, and a draft is a way bigger ask than put on pants and go to the court house
