@RikaDerufu @sickburnbro "BUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE LABOR POOL WAS CUT IN HALF????
MASS INFLATION DUE TO LABOR PRICES DOUBLING,
COMPANIES HAVING TO COMPETE FOR WORKERS
COMPANIES THAT MAKE STEEL BARS AND ENGINES WOULD SELL THEIR PRODUCTS AT DOUBLE THE PRICE AND WEATHER THE STORM BUT WHAT ABOUT NETFLIX????
WHAT ABOUT FELDMAN AND FELDMAN AND SONS CONSULTING????
THESE COMPANIES WOULD JUST GO UNDER
THE GDP WOULD SHRINK IN HALF
THE GDP
THE MEASURE OF TRANSACTIONS IN THE ECONOMY
THAT CAN BE INCREASED BY TWO GUYS EXCHANGING A CINDERBLOCK FOR A FIVER, THE SAME CINDERBLOCK AND THE SAME FIVE DOLLAR BILL, CHANGING HANDS BETWEEN THE SAME TWO GUYS, EVERY DAY, INCREASING THE GDP BY FIVE DOLLARS EVERY TIME
THAT GDP
IT WILL GO DOWN"
DONT CARE
THAT'S NOT IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW

Implementing a socialist system is more doable than going back to the gender roles of 300 years ago while also maintaining an industrialized society. Social values follow social development. You can "retvrn" only if you give up on industrialized society, and I believe you are smart enough to know it's not possible.
What I'm saying is that what modern society is doing wrong is leaving young (and also non-young) men behind with no healthy role model and guidance. They only get addressed in a negative way (me too, "yes all men" etc) and they are trapped between becoming trannies or toxic self-absorbed mgtows a la Tate.
When I try to say that men could have a more "blended" role like women have now (both providers and care takers) dudes react like I want systematic sissyfication/feminization of men, which is kinda telling, because it shows that men see care taking as something inherently degrading and humiliating. This is the thing that had to change imo.

@RikaDerufu @sickburnbro FIRSTLY WE ARE IN AN INDUSTRIALIZED SOCIETY,
NOT IN AN INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY
A VERY THIN SLICE OF THE POPULATION ACTUALLY DOES PRODUCTIVE LABOR
THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE LABOR FORCE IS ENGAGED IN EMAIL JOBS THAT CAN BE SHUT DOWN FOR MONTHS WITH FOOD STILL SHOWING UP AT THE TABLE, AS WE HAVE SEEN DURING COVID SHUTDOWNS
AND AS WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT FOR A GOOD THREE FOUR FIVE DECADES PRIOR
THE WHOLE "BULLSHIT JOB" DISCUSSION
THERE'S NOT GOING TO BE A SHORTAGE OF COAL OR BREAD IF WOMEN ARE NO LONGER FORCED TO SEND EMAILS AND MAKE POWERPOINTS UNDER THREAT OF FINANCIAL RUIN
SECONDLY
>Social values follow social development
IS JUST FANTASY
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT IS VERY EXPLICITLY GUIDED AND INFORMED BY THE POWER STRICTURES.
A NEW AGENDA WILL RESHAPE CULTURE LIKE EVERY PREVIOUS AGENDA HAD RESHAPED CULTURE.
SOCIETY IS NOT WEATHER, IT'S NOT SOME ELEMENTAL FORCE THAT THE HUMAN WILL HAVE NO SAY IN AND MUST SIMPLY ACQUIESCE TO.
-
On another side note, what you are talking about can be to a some degree avoided implementing a socialist system, or at least a high degree of state welfare. Of course this can be done only if you limit immigration.
But I don't expect a burger brain to grasp the concept that welfare is good because american society is centered around niggers etc etc
-
@RikaDerufu @sickburnbro UMMM THAT'S UNREALISTIC BECAUSE YOU'D HAVE TO CHANGE THE WAY SOCIETY ECONOMY AND CULTURE WORK WHICH LITERALLY CANNOT BE DONE AND HAS NEVER BEEN DONE
-
The main issue with this IMO is the fact that in the last 100/150 years the role of the woman was redefined (rightly so, because the "traditional" woman role is unrealistic and unsustainable today, unless you are down to redefine society and economy as a whole, which is also unrealistic) but the traditional role of the man kept being the same, so it slowly became irrelevant.
I think a good solution would be to redefine the role of the man as one who's involved in nurturing and family _as much_ as the woman, while _also_ being a provider. This is what most western women are already doing most of the time, there's a reason why one of the most popular discourse topics on the "woman sphere" is complaining about how men don't contribute enough to households, because they don't do anything regarding house chores and taking care of the kids, while women work full time and take care of all the rest. And this happens while also taking into account that most men want women to work, otherwise they are seen as "gold diggers", not to count that women have a right to work in order to protect themselves, in case their partner decides to ditch them eventually.

@RikaDerufu @sickburnbro LISTEN PAL
YOU'RE JUST GONNA HAVE TO GET CHEWED UP BY THE WAGE-DEBT SLAVERY
SORRY NOT SORRY, THAT'S HOW THE ECONOMY WORKS
YEAH YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TAKE MATERNITY LEAVE BECAUSE YOU'LL LOSE THE MORTGAGE AND GO HOMELESS
YEAH YOU'RE GONNA GET WORKED ALL YOUR LIFE AS CATTLE AND GET NOTHING WHEN YOU'RE NO LONGER ABLE TO WORK
YEAH, EVERYTHING COSTS DOUBLE AND WAGES ARE HALVED BECAUSE WOMEN HAVE THE "RIGHT" TO "WORK" TO "DEFEND THEMSELVES"
BTW WOMEN DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEFEND THEMSELVES FROM PENILE WOMEN ENTERING THEIR BATHROOMS
BUT THAT'S JUST HOW THE ECONOMY AND SOCIETY WORKS
YOU SHOULD SETTLE IN AND BE COMFORTABLE AS A SLAVE BECAUSE CHANGING THIS IS UNREALISTIC
EXCEPT ALL THE TIMES IT CHANGED IN THE PAST TO GET US TO THIS POINT
AND ALL THE WAYS IT'S BEING CHANGED NOW BY POLITICAL AGENDA
NOTHING YOU CAN DO
SOCIETY CULTURE AND ECONOMY ARE ELEMENTAL FORCES LIKE THE WEATHER
THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HUMAN ACTIVITY, THEY JUST HAPPEN
THAT "COVID BOYFRIEND" THING? IGNORE THAT. THERE'S NO OBVIOUS BLUEPRINT TO REVERSING ALL OF THIS! IT'S A MYSTERY!
-
Also, I have to note that this is another extremely american-centred take. Amerimutts just can't be helped I guess.
No one in Europe would even try to argue against maternity leave, every person with a non negative IQ knows that's an essential right that needs to be protected in order to give families the possibility to have children

What's the tweet she's referring to?
