     @kilostere Nips are becoming increasingly conscious that most of the current popular IP's are either Korean or Chinese like BA, NIKKE, Genshin and Starrail.
     They mald about it but never point the finger to themselves.
     
     The DEI infection is increasingly noticeable in Japanese media and they let it happen without a fight despite warnings from the west.
     
     Nips also like to keep coasting on old IP's like Touhou, Fate and EVA. And even if they create something new that is popular, they fail to capitalize on it internationally leaving money on the table for korea and china to pick up.
     
     The most famous example is Kancolle. It was very popular. fanart, cosplayers and merch everywhere.
     So what did the publisher do? They region locked the game and even tried to create some bullshit artificial scarcity where even nips had to enter a lottery to make an account.
     ...Then the chinks swooped in with Azur Lane to capitalize on their fuck up. :miku_dab:
     
     Same thing with Uma Musume. Why the hell would you wait 3 years to make a international version when you have something popular on your hands?
     At least cygames didn't tank their own success with account creation lottery bullshit like Kadokawa did with Kancolle.

It's an excellent look, like a sort of wartime pinup girl. It let you focus on the best features of ships and women at once

     The japs seemed to do this demure school uniform thing blending weapons and rigging with IRL counterparts, and the end result just sucks in comparison. An M1 garand with a steam catapult for a barrel has nothing on underboob and a trio of 381mm cannons

     @Tamamo @EdBoatConnoisseur @kilostere I guess it works on me, the only gacha I have is azur these days....I still think the US came closer to defeat than we think in retrospect, the war was really a good old case of drag between a supercharged v8 and a turbo supra. They had a good run early on but once the US hit industrial powerband they got left in the dust - if the japs had gotten the better of one of their decisive battles, as they planned, things could have gone quite differently

     @Iffine @lapin Still didn't make sense for niche publishers like compile heart whose games entire selling point is fan service to keep releasing gimped versions on sony's platform.
     Or how marvelous opted to kill off the senran kagura IP entirely instead of moving it over to nintendo's platform.

     Well, even if the Japanese complained (which I'm not fully certain they didn't), that's not where the money is for these companies. In Japan, good launch sales is like 20k copies, peak sales is at least 100k. Compare that to releasing in the Americas and Europe where 100k sales is the base standard for barely passable launch window sales.
     They've been listening to their own country less and less because the big money isn't in Japan's game market, as fucked as that is. Who cares about complaints from the a country with low sales numbers anyways when you're a global company? Most smaller publishers follow along since they love the scent of money just as much.
