     @PunishedD @blaaablaaaa I think I could kind of lie my way through things just because I interrogate people when I talk to them, I'm interested in the intricacies of what they do. It's like my head sees the world with that fog in a map game, the more I learn about life the less there is

     But I still don't have a good idea of what normal jobs even are, I talk to people all the time and just wonder how the hell they ended up an actuary, or dental supply coordinator

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @blaaablaaaa @PunishedD Core issue is that stripping away all of the interesting, unique stuff someone knows makes them less interesting, and a counterculture is about being interesting.
     
     I just slip in an inconsequential lie here or there about my bio. They occasionally conflict with each other, and the big things are broad enough to cover hundreds of thousands of people.
     
     It's possible that the big things are also lies. I'm just a hobbyist programmer, of course - there are a lot of those, nowadays, and plenty of autists do that well enough but are too autistic to penetrate the post-2012 hiring scene at SV. Just spinning up ML models on the free tier of Google Colab, load-balancing thirty free gmail accounts that some Indian on Fiverr spun up for $10 to prevent throttling while I work as a night watchman in some nog-infested city.

     @AmericanChampion @blaaablaaaa @PunishedD I've talked anough about my job now, shown off our planes, anybody who knows our in-house work could figure out where I am, our offerings are pretty unique. I was at least smart enough to avoid IRL stuff, it's just too damn easy to locate these days. In my other poasting careers I thought there wouldn't be any harm to it, but sure enough all it takes is mentioning the make & model and the day you fly somewhere and people have you dead to rights And when your boss is a libshit, it's not worth it.
