     @Shadowman311 @DW2 The draft is a lost technology, like roman concrete. It was similarly created to satisfy a particular need at a particular time and environment with available resources, and when all those circumstances changed it was no longer possible to replicate.
     
     That said, just because they CAN'T doesn't mean they WON'T. Much like 60IQ zambos CAN'T fly to the moon, they still put on the orange jumpsuits (before they put on the other orange jumpsuits) and make a show of doing it.
     
     I do think about the videos of ukranian men being dragged screaming into mortar fire and wonder how that would go in america. Is the skinnyfat 20 something twitter guy who swears he'd sooner die than serve really going to make a principled last stand and go out in a blaze of glory when the military police come knocking? Or is he going to keep his head down and hope he makes it home alive? And what happens when those videos hit the internet, whats the reaction? If its like literally everything bad thats happened for the last 40 years I'm guessing for most people the response will be "Thank God it wasn't me." Until it is.

     @Sprayfoam_Sal @Shadowman311 @DW2 I don’t think there’ll be riots, either. At best we’ll have isolated instances of rebellion, but they’ll ramp up the draft and dangle enough funny money and “non combat” roles to lure people into passively going along with it.

     At best, you may have enough people bring back uh…IRA literature and start learning some effective lessons. There’s only one threat I’ve ever seen make a genuine 3-letter glownigger shudder - and it isn’t a school shooter

     my friends, neighbors, and family members are also not going to be drafted, and they are likewise not going to jail for it

     the only operant question is precisely how many men without Level 4 plates they’re going to burn through before they get the message that the answer is “NO” and will remain “NO” forever

     there is no future where “attempting to draft” a fairly large percentage of the population works out to be a net gain for the government’s warfighting capacity, and I have a feeling they are aware of that fact and have no intention of trying it

With no discernible pattern. That’s scarier than dragging out a well-armed resister with 20 armored dudes surrounding the exits. They can’t defend against that without alienating people hard.

     Before you know it they have to provide 360º of protection when they go hunting for ‘recruits’, which then exacerbates “negative interactions” when someone sees an armored column stacking up across the street.

     That’s how the spiral starts

In the aftermath of the the beltway guy, they were terrified that the AQ would pick up on that as an MO. I fully believe there’s been some liason talk w/ the FBI telling hollywood “hey, don’t go giving people ideas, okay? Let’s just forget all about sniper terrorists”

     That’s why they seed the idea of school shooters now: works perfectly in their policy, win/win for their aims. Kills white kids, or kills shitskins to prove white supremacy, strengthens gun control, and doesn’t risk anyone taking a successful potshot at fat old people in powerful seats

They have enough gung-ho roide meats that look forward to ‘cracking the oyster’, once they’re equipped they don’t see anything to fear. They know where the fire’s coming from and they’ll smoke them out and burn them alive. It’s a known confrontation.

     Being taken out from nowhere is way scarier, messes with your nerves just worrying about it, adds a lot of security theater and paranoia that further inhibits the mission, too.

     @mmmfeet @Boomerman @Sprayfoam_Sal @Shadowman311 @DW2 Good book about their tactics but I lost it. Breaking down stuff, hiding it, being mobile. If it’s just a one-off you’re good. It’s coming back to do the same area, over and over again that bites you. if you had the trunk setup, you’d probably have a fair shot at getting away with it. But it’s reliant upon ONE time, no repeats, and everyone continues on like nothing’s out of the ordinary

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Boomerman @Sprayfoam_Sal @Shadowman311 @DW2 Maybe snipers might be possible in rural areas or woodlands, but aren't urban areas all surveillance hubs nowadays? One of the big things the ira used to do is have one guy set up a sniper somewhere and leave it for another guy to use the next day, who would then leave the rifle behind after he fired his shot. It was ingenious for its time but I don't know if "shoot and scoot" will be possible anymore, at least where ever there's security cameras
