   Everything was going nice, snuggled in bed, everything was cozy, she’s lounging on my lap, when the doggy door opens with a panicked, shrieking chicken freaking out and flying all over the place

   She’s gotten some wild-ass show chicken, and the things are NOT domesticated at all. Like, outside, getting within 5 feet of them sends them flying 20 feet on a regular day - now imagine they’re inside the house, and they’re stressed.

   Took me 15 minutes in order to catch that squirrely bastard without it scratching a monitor as it tried to perch on something.

     So a good night, capped with some irritation too. If you’ve never had to catch one of these things, they’re more like pheasants than chickens? A lot smaller, able to squeeze into little tubes and escape into hollows easier. The first couple times I thought I had it it went into overdrive and I chickened out, it’s easy to force it and grab it the wrong way, break a wing, a leg, etc. And these things are temperamental to raise. Not really wanting to go through the trouble of hatching more.

     so I can’t wait for my early morning now. Dumb retard birds.

     @ForbiddenDreamer Actually all the roosters are cool, way less spazzed than the hens. One of them was great, almost thought he was retarded because he’d just walk over to follow you wherever you went. You could sit him on your lap and he’d chill forever.

     @BullSchmitt I guess technically we’re indoor chicken farming because I have an incubator set up in the basement for the next ones. We’re FINALLY gonna have some good laying hens instead of these cutesy fancy ones
