     @N33R @shibao @Moon @vriska Facebook joining AP makes no sense whatsoever considering how their platform work. It will be a new tab and nobody will use it
     
     If anything, it will be a new attempt at owning the web. It can't be decentralized, they'll never allow that, but they can have a closed fediverse within their own servers. That'd make the most sense I think

     @vriska yeah you're right I think but I think it was just publishing the streams or something.
     
     This is bad business for them because they lock you into their website so they can track you, they can't do that if they can talk both directions with a decentralized network

     @coolboymew I keep seeing this brought up and I'm not sure what any big tech company would get out of federating with the Mastodon Network™. They have their walled garden and that's exactly what they want, not wrangling a bunch of anons that mostly hate them anyway.
