   The model was apparently trained on an (((UKRAINIAN))) :map_flag: agency's "material". Wow, the (((hohols))) are pedophiles, color me surprised :eyeroll:
   
   Maybe it's an entrapment scheme but it's far more likely that they're gonna use this as a pretense to ban locally hosted/open source/non-corporate Stable Diffusion and maybe AI in general.

     @Xeraser This is one of the very few things I would have put past them - releasing one of these things to the public would've been a red tape nightmare, and *any* expert in the field would know that this is functionally equivalent to posting a huge pile of real CP on the internet.
     
     Imagine feds going "yes I believe we shall post gigabytes of child pornography on 4chan today." That's what just happened. Good job. Anyone with half a brain could've told you that someone was going to reverse engineer the dataset - which is apparently what happened.
     
     I can imagine someone non-technical signing off on this, but I can't imagine someone with any technical expertise signing off on this at all.
     
     This is the most retarded thing I've seen come out of any technical field in my entire life, and I have seen quite a bit of idiocy.

     Not exactly, you can't extract the training data from a model. People noticed how a certain logo reliably appears on the vast majority of generations using that model and that logo appears to belong to "an infamous ukrainian CP agency"
     It's not the equivalent of zipping up CP and providing a download link, not on a technical level. To a court however...

     I think you mean "normal people" can't extract the training data from the model.
     
     There's a good pile of work in the literature which is centered around doing *exactly that.* Here's a link to work that does that: https://arxiv.org/abs/2206.07758 . This is literally just the first one I found: it does a pretty decent job. It's far from perfect, but it's good enough that anyone reasonable is gonna be satisfied with it.
     
     It's definitely a lot more involved, but anyone should be able to go and say "yup this is a thing that people can do, and it's a thing that we should worry about."

They don't cast their net nearly so wide, and they do it in a way that the resulting court case is a lot more straightforward.
     
     If they post the neural network model, it's genuinely a bit of a question *in court* whether or not this is the same as CP. From a *technical* perspective, it's absolutely the same thing, but I can imagine a crafty lawyer getting a pedo off the hook here.

     @x0x7 @teknomunk @PhenomX6 @Xeraser @Giganova8 the problem is that the AI was trained on stuff that WASN'T fake and would be considered against the law. it stands to reason that derivatives of that would be illegal too; at the very least the first derivative would be. that has happened with loli artwork before, where people were using CP as refs and got bopped. it's happened with erotica too.
