  As long as tradition does not contradict scripture there's no reason not to follow it. The Bible does not contain all of Christ's teachings, as John clearly states:
  
  "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen."

In correspondences between Bishops the common shorthand is either the “Catholic Church” or the “Orthodox Church”, but “True Orthodox” has stuck in the wider parlance.
