   I hate to break it to you but in 10 to 15 years anime will be as cringe as you think harry potter and marvel is now. The normies are descending upon it like locusts, because all their fields of hobbydom have been destroyed by their ravenous appetites for soy.

     I'm BSing w/ the artists to try and envision what's going to be in vogue in the future, I think the escape into 2d will stand to a large extent, but AI will add some realism and get rid of maybe half the jap styling in the facial area. The rest will stand, but the faces won't look "anime" like they do today. AI improvements will figure out a style that looks realistic enough but leaves enough space for the brain to not see a real person in that face. It's lying somewhere there next to the uncanny valley.

     But you see the style cropping up in these boorus already: People who look at 2d characters and try to make them realer looking, usually uncomfortably so

     So along these lines, with 10 years of experimentation, fusion, and social breakthroughs. You'll see one property use an evolved form of this go big and then that will be the standard for a generation of creators

     @WashedOutGundamPilot I don't think a medium or activity gets destroyed when bad instances emerge, it gets destroyed when the good instances are completely rooted out. If there were a football team that was loudly, aggressively against all of the gay pride and BLM stuff, they'd have plenty of fans at every game. Same deal as Fedi - it's a lot more left-leaning on average than Twitter was, but the existence of instances where being a normal 2014 internet user isn't banned or shadowbanned makes it one of the better social media platforms.
     
     Given the growing backlash against troonslators in the West and in Japan, and the fact, as AI advances, we get ever closer to /pol/ making its very own slice of life series with competitive production value, I don't think we'll see a total purge of non-cringe content the way we did in sci-fi literature, Western animation, tabletop gaming, and Hollywood movies.

     @vic Vogue in our circles, which is the only one that really cares about the substance. Everyone else is embroiled in the culture war slop narrative, watching the same movies and games either genuinely or "hate watching"

     "Media" won't be interesting to the masses anymore, who already don't have the attention span to sit through a full-length movie, but rather recreational drug use will go mainstream (even more mainstream than it is now). People won't watch shows, they'll go on soma vacations.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot An anime produced by companies like The Daily Wire is inevitable, even if there's gonna be an uproar. Maybe more advanced art like sculptures could still be based, but you'll need to learn another language to witness the good kind of art.
