Suggesting rock died because of that is fucking stupid either way. Well it never really died anyway, it has evolved into a bunch of subgenres and many of them are going strong to this day. There are many amazing bands active today that make music which falls under it. It's less mainstream but it never died, better that way even since it means it's not corporate and commercialized. -
