     @Shadowman311 One time I was working at a clinic in this little village 30 miles from town when someone excitedly ran in to tell me that america had declared war on north korea, and everyone was going to be drafted.

     It was a ballistic missile test from when the media still squawked about the norks lobbing them into the sea. So.........brown hearsay tends to be weighted pretty lightly on my gossip scale.

     @Jewpacabra @Shadowman311 I wonder if that was the root. Everything trickled down so slowly without good internet. My employer was worthless for giving us internet, it was contracted but when there's no infrastructure besides dial-up, you have to get everything second hand by TV/radio, and native stations aren't always great at sorting the bluster.

     It was fun to think the world was ending for a day, but it just became another lesson in shrugging it off and waiting for proof.
