     We're never even going to get the TSMC plant in Arizona successfully operational because the Taiwanese are finding out the hard way that American corporate culture is completely incompatible with running a semiconductor plant that even vaguely resembles their operations in Taiwan. And that plant wasn't even going to be making the latest and greatest chips.

The kids coming up today are too removed from the war - early on Jenson or whatever his boomer ass was knew that building a chip fab in their alcatraz was an existential thing for their country - kids now don't have that, they're probably 20 years behind out cultural cycle

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Hoss @dcc @Dudebro I recall reading a while back that part of the problem with the Arizona plant was that the government, being a sponsor of the thing, made sure the DEI policies were ironclad, so preliminary hiring ground to a halt because they couldn't find enough competent people.
     
     If they got enough to send Taiwanese personnel to start training, I can only imagine the torture for those guys.
