In code, at least from what i understand. i18n is more about number and date formatting, currency defaults, monday or sunday. Etc. Which are more national standards than say language translations which are more "t9n"

What's the best way to test a python library with multiple #python versions?

I really dislike having to install old pythons from dead snakes, they're not always available for all versions.

What I'd like is a non container based command that is in essence "virtualenv -p $remotepython"

@rysiek @axbom Terry Pratchett called it "lies to children". A simplified version of the truth which gets a child onto the next rung of the truth ladder.

I'm happy to have people learn about mastodon, given that they have a much better chance of learning of the rest of the fediverse than if they went to post.

Mastodon doesn't interfere with the fediverse brand. It's not trying to steal thunder. At least, no behaviour I've seen indicates that.

I updated my #python #crontab module last night with a #wheel to help people making deployments.

Five people show up at my project's gitlab this morning to complain the hash has changed for their automatic builds.

This is a bit of an eyebrow moment for me, since all these people are clearly depending on my code, but more importantly depending on me somehow maintaining it. Despite not being employed to do so. Fortunately it's my master work, so I'm not likely to drop it. But still.

Hmm, trying to fix a bit of a #ux problem in #inkscape which was introduced in 1.3 (dev) where fixed/locked colors were entirely unconfigurable.

This proposed version changes that so you can mark any color as fixed/locked.

We in the open source world are *very keen* to figure out how we can make this work. Because the alternate reality we live in, where our computers work, are generally safe and don't do awful things behind our backs; contrasts sharply with the consumer computer world and the dreadful quality normal people are permitted to have.
