     As I implement my own text renderer having failed to find a Haskell one that was internationalized enough for me...

     @doctormo Yes, "internationalization" can mean more than "translation", but it's often used only to mean "translation".

     In code, at least from what i understand. i18n is more about number and date formatting, currency defaults, monday or sunday. Etc. Which are more national standards than say language translations which are more "t9n"

     @be @doctormo I will add that while I concur that "internationalization" may not be the best name, but to me the concept means "respecting diversity of cultural differences in software design".

     @alcinnz @doctormo A nice sentiment, and, also seems inherently impossible in practice because cultures are infinitely changing.

     @be @doctormo Yeah, well I don't promise to be perfect in my efforts... Or to break any ground...

     It's definitely helpful to split the task up into "internationalization" & "localization" like is done for translation... So others can take responsibility for localization where there's interest!
