So let me get this straight. Due to the 500 character limit, noagendasocial has always been terrible for any argument or discussion deeper than a talking point. And now we're banning memes too?

How did medicine become so political? Being skeptical of a medical procedure that kills one of every thousand people treated is not a "right-wing" political stance. It's a survival trait.

If wanting to stay healthy and pure makes me "right", then I don't want to be wrong.

The word "science" has been overloaded; it means both a method for obtaining new knowledge, and a secular authoritarian religion with the trappings of science. Know the difference.

The scientific method demands that we constantly question existing knowledge. Religious tenets, in general, can't hold up to being questioned.

This makes for a useful litmus test: If you are allowed to question something, it's science. If you are not allowed to question, you are looking at a religious belief.

Every time some petty dictator "shuts off" the internet in their country, it should remind us that we need another internet. Or dozens. Or millions.

The technology was designed to be redundant, but in our laziness, we have allowed gatekeepers and choke points to creep in - places where authoritarians can apply censorship.

The internet is the vehicle for our shared culture. It is far too important to let ANYONE access to an "off switch".

People who believe in mythical things like man-made climate change or that socialism can work are not necessarily evil; just stupid. Willful ignorance is not a moral crime, and it is your God given right to believe whatever idiocy you want.

The moral crime occurs when you try to manipulate or force others based on your ideology. *Activists* are at the root of the most evil acts being perpetrated today.

Any attempt at government price controls are doomed to fail. But that's not even the worst part.

It is mathematically provable that price controls make things worse. With maximum degrees of freedom (and without any centralized management), a supply/demand system will always tend toward an optimal and fair outcome for all parties. Any removal of freedom pulls the system away from optimum.

In the case of price controls, this manifests as black markets, grift, and shortages.
