I don't understand why it is taking so long to implement quote posts as they are on the development list. Perhaps the Mastodon lead developers do not understand how important those are? Threads, Bluesky and X-Twitter all have them and their lack on Mastodon stands out like a sore thumb.

And yes I do believe that Mastodon as a whole is (and should be) competing with those sites for users.

@Gargron LLMs are more sophisticated versions of the old ELIZA chatbot. At least ELIZA's creator Joseph Weizenbaum did not attempt to overhype what it was.
