here's a pic of the messy situation before doing this adjustment. it will also be much better to be able to (dis)connect the connectors when they're on the other side.
spent the second half of today working on the second rev of the MNT Reform Next motherboard, where i decided to bring the connectors to the back side and also reorder them to minimize crossings (and mess) of the flat cables in the device in this upside down orientation. also made the board 5mm shorter to solve mechanical conflicts between the motherboard cables and the keyboard edge. a lot of work, but it'll pay off for sure.
this also means that i had to mirror (flip) all pins of these FPCs.
@voxpelli i started outer worlds recently but it didn't really stick. not sure why, maybe i should give it another go. i completed the original wasteland (on commodore 64)
@eqe there's a dip switch that you can use to break the connections to the SOC UART. and if turning off the debug UART in LPC firmware is not enough, you can also remove these 2 0Rs
@mindfulvector hey so i was already looking into this last night and checked in with crowd supply, apparently you are already in contact with their support about this? (tanner from CS) they're definitely the right people to help you with this, so i'd recommend to contact their support again if not done so. we (MNT) can't do anything further about it because we are not fulfilling these orders. in any case i'm super sorry this happened to you and hope it'll be resolved quickly.
OK so it looks like my talk from the recent KiCon Europe 2024 in bochum is actually online now, just not on the KiCad channel. here it is if you're into talk stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LN2-vh3P0c
