someone who's good at eMMC help me budget this... i wasted many hours yesterday on trying to figure out why eMMC doesn't work reliably in uboot on A311D. i enabled mmc tracing now and it looks like some initial commands work but it starts falling apart at CMD 6. often it does work, and the ROM and linux can always talk to the eMMC without problems. it's just something weird about uboot (driver is meson_gx_mmc.c). gist: https://gist.github.com/mntmn/56eb9981bab7a0336fd1de9b3b99350d

why are they making a robot

struggling with a311d emmc issues in uboot. works fine in linux, but only like 50% of the time in uboot 😵💫

we just did a longer Pocket Reform hacking session at the company and fixed several issues in the sysctl firmware, which made a Steam Deck charger work (so probably others as well) and implements charging board detection, so these hiccups should be gone when testing without charging board. Will clean up and push tomorrow. The main issue with charger compat was the 5 second startup delay of the firmware.

i think i'll get a 27" WQHD OLED monitor 👀

4K native resolution at 27" is too tiny for me. so i set the sway/wayfire scale to 1.5. but this makes my intel+amd desktop slow/stuttery in weird ways on some apps (maybe xwayland related?), and xwayland apps are a bit blurry (fractional scaling doesn't work properly). so i guess i need something in between 1080p and 4K at 27" to work comfortably. my EIZO had something like QHD IIRC (2560x...)
