You cannot trust barely-auditable in-hardware encryption and neither can you trust the firmware to not pull shenanigans while wiping a device.
The only way to be sure is to ensure the device never has access to the plaintext at all. -

Since I'm grabbing the pictures from the remote resources directly (over Whonix, of course), I can see which instances are compromised/Cloudflared.
Because images refuse to load over #Tor.
Kind of disappointing to witness in many cases.
