@nixCraft When I worked as printer admin in a major german university I saw a lot of cases of printer vendors just making drivers unavailable to download to force you to buy new models. The market for printers is a scam. Remember Canon having to teach their customers how to bypass their own DRM for their ink because they were out of computer chips and their printers recognized original ink as being pirated? LOL

@nixCraft this whole AI story is an interesting phenomenon. Daron Acemoğlu and James A. Robinson point the laws protecting intellectual property on their works „Why Nation Fails: The Origin of Power, Prosperity, and Poverty“ as one of the key factors for the success of industrialized nations as the USA.

I wonder if this behavior will make people create less because at the end only big tech can make money out of intellectual property. We may be experiencing the downfall of capitalism right now.

@Gargron I feel like this is a German thing, back when I lived in Brazil I never had any problem watching things in English, even on normal TV

@nixCraft I wonder if Spotify is a good example. I think the big players will get around everything, not matter what. They have the resources to build different apps for different continents. They will choose the options withe the best outcome for them.

Also Spotify doesn't care for the artists, they seek market dominance.
