I love the choice of hair color, style, and lady-like underwear though ;) -
Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Saturday, 25-Nov-2023 06:02:32 JST Cayhr @PunishedLenny3 Hrmm... I gotta say, too skinny. She needs to be thicker... Possibly even, smaller breasts to compensate. That is still beautiful in its own way, in a delicate and porcelain doll type (funnily enough this pic has that hime-cut style).
The first pic you posted is a lot better, but I think my issue is that the second pic is TOO thin. :popuko_nod: -

Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Friday, 24-Nov-2023 06:53:23 JST Cayhr @Vidmastereon Agreed. Deprive them of all funding, don't allow any more parasites in, remove existing parasites, and continue building great products in the face of their attempts to bring down our favorite media.
Of course some host bodies can't be saved since none of us have shareholder power, but it is expected some losses will occur. Luckily, I haven't cared for a publicly-traded IP in a good while :gura_comfy:

Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Friday, 24-Nov-2023 06:30:46 JST Cayhr @rlier23 The thing about "pissing off the right people" is that there is a very important piece of information that is required to make it an "own," in the internet sense. Everyone employs this rhetoric of "haha I angered the right people, take that!" to make it seem as if their point is the "right" one. I believe the factor is intent.
When trannylators "trigger the anti-SJW types," all they are doing is revealing their incompetence, maliciousness, pettiness, and disdain for the medium, further destroying what is left of their meager ethos when it comes to being credible individuals in the industry. The art form has not been improved, contributed to, or iterated upon, but it has been made worse. This is not subjective, it is objective, because their entire ideology is based in delusion. They are also straight up WRONG in what they do, and they know they are wrong, but they tell you that they are right.
When "we" rectify the wrongs caused by these infiltrators or continue doing as we always have despite their attempts to subjugate, it angers them because their advances to subvert and co-opt are being impeded. Things like removing their flags of conquest, providing better alternatives, removing their financial support, and having more voices against them, are merely tools of war to defeat the barbarians at the gates. Our intentions are just and righteous for the medium, and it should always be considered as excising a cancer that seeks to infest and destroy. -
Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Thursday, 23-Nov-2023 04:28:55 JST Cayhr @DrRyanSkelton The word irregular is actually quite an interesting one, because I've seen it used quite a bit where applicable. The Irregular at Magic High School aka Mahouka, irregulars in various isekai titles, and more.
Localization, when it was more honest and well-intended, did give us some great things. Like you mentioned, "Maverick" in English is a much more menacing term for something gone rogue or wrong, in this case, AI. I don't know how well "Irregular Hunter X" would have caught on in English speaking societies. The equivalent of Irregular in Japanese is likely well understood enough, or they just don't have (as many) other words/terms like English does to describe something that has gone defective.

Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Thursday, 23-Nov-2023 04:19:07 JST Cayhr @DrRyanSkelton I would have preferred "I give, I give, I give!" rather than "Uncle, uncle uncle!" The former is a translation, the latter is a localization. And that's not to be petty about translations vs localizations either, I think "I give!" is both more accurate and universally understandable.
But yes, at least here in America, it is colloquially understood that shouting "Uncle, uncle!" is a voice of surrender.

Some sort of really innocuous object that would get passed over without a second thought had excessive amounts of render detail and it contributed a lot to the FPS drops haha

Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Sunday, 19-Nov-2023 07:14:06 JST Cayhr @blueknightfrank The funny thing about yandev is that the more egregious problem about the game is the extremely poor choice of model quality. Someone did an asset analysis and there are things like spoons with 300k tris or something crazy unnecessary like that. -
Cayhr (cayhr@varishangout.net)'s status on Friday, 17-Nov-2023 16:08:06 JST Cayhr @rlier23 Such is RoR1. It's pretty brutal with teleporter spawns and you simply getting overwhelmed because you took too long and failed to scale. I've had very good runs so far with Drifter because she is quite frankly quite OP (Monsoon of course. I can handle more than Drizzle!). Just have to get a sense of how to scour the map; such is the way of learning the game. It's no different than with Enter the Gungeon and figuring out how the game usually spawns the boss rooms. But in EtG, you aren't pressed for time where enemies will be able to rape you with pure stats!
It's what sets RoR apart from other roguelikes, but at the same time, is also its most contentious design point. The runs you succeed are the ones you hit the teleporter quickly and loot while the teleporter event is going on. The ones you fail are the ones where you spend too much time dilly-dallying or looting as the game scales beyond the current stage's provided power. -
