You're one person, and in our language, we have an understanding of a male and female human as the conversant, and usually non-humans are referred to as it unless we know the sex of the "it" such as a pet dog. :hinata_acid:

@Tamamo That crowd really messed up by trying to use they and them, because those are words that are supposed to be used in reference to a collection. The fundamentals of English is being screwed up as a result. My guess is they co-opted it because made up pronouns like xi and xer didn't worm its way into regular syntax like the existing words they and them.

@locagainstwall Ah man it's been a while since I last read through the forums. We put good stuff on there, but there is a bit of a moral tangent in there about Daniel dying. Imo, he dedicated his life to screwing up my stuff and taking power away from actual fans, so I'd say good riddance. He is proud of his work, so I think I should uphold the true golden rule and treat him appropriately.
Sheesh. Imagine how different it'd be if this guy was simply with that crowd his whole life and he knew nothing better. He'd very much the definition of a lemming, and we could at least give him the benefit of the doubt that he was ignorantly a product of his environment and offer our condolences. But no, these people ACTIVELY seek to ruin our media. What, I'm supposed to tearfully mourn a cultural barbarian? I'm sorry but he made his intent fully clear, just like all the other lolcowlizers like Katrina and Andrew. Ever heard of how actions speak louder than words?

But also for actual fans like us, we get a little bonus: The AI translation will still be more accurate than the localizer, and our knowledge of the source material/culture can fill in the gaps :shinobu_kaka: . Of course, unless the JP companies are also intentionally going to fudge the translation (in the way activist localizers do).
Now of course if you know JP that's even better, but uh... :akko_sad: I... do not... and honestly I have not made any efforts to. Too busy, no practicing habits established.
