We're working on some big updates to the @pixelfed app, namely Push Notifications!

Push Notifications will be rolling out to TestFlight users on pixelfed.social later this weekend.

After we evaluate and resolve any bugs, we will ship a new build and backend version with support for other apps and servers!

Push notifications will be limited to Follows, Likes, Mentions and Comments. Unified Push and 3rd party apps will be supported.
