But then you told yourself, hey, I've been using linux for the last 30 years (well, almost), I'll survive.

@nixCraft I can agree with the author about almost all of his points, great writeup about what Unix is like. And why it is great (hint: it is not the fact that you can get open-source unixes today, that is only secondary).
And I like his thoughts about evolving the shell - yes, a functional approach to shell programming would be an awesome toolbox!

@nixCraft Well, I don't mind if the other dev points out obvious errors, like NPEs. The convenient aspect is ofc that I can blame the other person if errors are only detected later :-)

@nixCraft Well, that's the thing: AI tech bros also can't grasp the concept of emotional understanding. Or they can but have decided it is irrelevant. Either case is a plausible one.
