   The tire pressure light on our Toyota started coming on every time we drive. Each time I'd manually check the tires, and they'd all be identically and fully inflated. Got it into the shop today, and turns out they have battery powered sensors inside the tire, and one's battery had died (while the other 3 are on the verge). Cost to fix: about $500 including parts and labor.

   Mechanic: Is the light driving you nuts?

   Me: Y'all got some duck tape?

   Mechanic: *tears off a piece and hands it to me*

     @tek I have winter tires on their own rims, so all winter my tire pressure light is on. It becomes easy enough to ignore. (for me) If one of mine goes dead, I'm already well-trained to ignore it for the rest of the year.

     @tek Keep in mind that (I think) a lot of that cost to replace is labor. See if you can get an estimate when you have to replace those tires. Once the tires are off the rims already, it's probably a lot less.

     @tek NVM what I said in that other toot. The replacements for mine are $123 EACH, just for the parts. Yep, duct tape on my dash too if it comes down to it.
