     @TinyHouse4Life @collatz we're going to call it a learning experience for both of us. She has learned hopefully that I really get upset when she kills plants I've been cultivating for several years, and I have learned to be more proactive in keeping my plants under control so she doesn't feel a need to kill them. She likes to work in the yard, but her idea of pruning is like something out of a Hitchcock movie

     @TinyHouse4Life @collatz He really is a ham. I have another grape that I might try and trim back and move. It was actually one I think my Dad planted, but it's not been pruned for a few years and it's grown up and started competing with a couple small trees. I might just stick it in a pot for the year and figure out where to put it next spring.

     @Flick @collatz right she went around rather late in the fall and hacked a lot of things down. She left 1 leaf on the vine in question. It hasn't grown anything back this year. Maybe it's just late to the party but some others have started to leaf out by now.

     If you have an Aldi nearby they sell concord and Niagara grape vines at the start of spring. I have several from then that have done wonderfully

     @TinyHouse4Life @collatz I normally buy my live plants from the local nursery. The one I might move is in a rather shaded part of the yard so I dont know if it's ever really been productive. It probably gets about 4 or 5 hours of light before the house shadows it over

     @thatguyoverthere @TinyHouse4Life I've been amazed by the resilience of grapes. I actually tried to give up on this one back when I thought we wouldn't have space for it. Just dumped it out of the pot & left it to dessicate before composting. Like a month or so later, found it sprouting where it'd shot roots down into the soil. decided from that point to let it put up a bunch of shoots & clone. This is the one that took.

     @thatguyoverthere @collatz I wouldn’t give up on it just yet. As far as I know, the danger time for grapes is in spring after the sap starts to rise, but summer and winter pruning are both ok so I would have thought autumn would be ok too, even if she took off too much for the time of year. Have you given it a mulch?

     @thatguyoverthere @Flick from that experience literally attempting to dessicate the op vine, I def wouldn't give up on it yet. If she cut below the developed budding sites, idk maybe it just has to push out some new ones
