Never waste even a single moment on trying to reach someone operating in bad faith to protect fascism and oppression; you're not going to accomplish anything except give the impression their recycled talking points might be worth examining. You know the difference between ignorance and sophistry; never give the cynical apologists any room to operate - not in your life, and certainly not in the public sphere. Laugh at them, tell them to go fuck themselves, and move on to WORTHWHILE pursuits.

This isn't a criticism, but I dunno why you folks in my replies insist on engaging with cracker moderates acting in bad faith when they show up in my replies and I offer them the level of respect and engagement they deserve; which is precisely none. These folks know full damn well that the violence is coming from colonial oppression and massacres, not some college kids chanting about intifada; which btw? Just means resistance/uprising. We've been over this shit; post the MLK quote, then block.

Again, don't ask *me* if I know how important this upcoming election is; I'm not running for president. Ask Joe Biden if he knows how important this election is instead, because he IS running for President and he's blowing it. Just absolutely blowing it.

I mean it's not even just the President's response to the massacre in Gaza, although that would be disastrous on its own. At the very same time he's hemorrhaging support because "genocide isn't popular" buddy is at the border, pushing a fascist border security bill, and begging Trump, a guy he's called a fascist, or fascistic (lol) to help him pass it. When your whole campaign is "fuck you, at least I'm not that pig" it does no good to try to hug the pig on TV. Makes it seem like you're lying.

Big Nixon energy. Like Hillary in 2016 saying "I'm doing intimate coffee shop meetings while Trump sells out convention centers." Can't bear the criticism but demands the job.

Guess that answers the question about whether Joe is more committed to aiding and abetting a genocide, or beating Trump. Genocide wins in a landslide.

I don't make the rules Joe, and literally nobody has ever won a Presidential campaign with "fuck you, fuck them dead kids, get off my lawn."

Nobody put a gun to Biden's head and said "you HAVE to run for a 2nd term." Saying "I'm not seeking the nomination" and having a real primary WAS an option. So when he falls on his face and hands you Trump/Project 2025/a fascist dictatorship, the blame is gonna lie in one place... Joe Biden.

If you want the job buddy, that means doing the job, and that means meeting voters - even the ones who are outrageously mad at you for carrying water for Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

I mean sure, there's still a lot of time; but nothing about this strategy says "this guy will win" and there's some shit that's pretty hard to come back from. Stuff like saying "there's two competing stories here" after a massacre committed by your favorite allies that left 100+ starving people dead.

I can't predict the future, but I'm good at spotting trend lines and this one is definitely trending towards "getting your ass kicked by a reality TV show fascist crook in a rigged oligarchy."

I mean like I implied last night:

You can ask folks like me, to change the minds of 100,000 pissed off Michigan voters - but that's not a plan, it's not feasible, it's not going to work.

OR, you can ask Joe Biden to do the fucking bare minimum - call it a genocide, cut aid, stop BLOCKING all attempts at international justice, and start demanding Israel stop doing a genocide. He's one guy, and he's running for President.

One of these things makes sense. The other is just feels.

Forgive me because I'm not a brilliant Dem Party strategist with a Harvard degree, but as someone from Michigan, I'm pretty sure "fuck em, they'll have to vote for us in November" is not the winning response to like 100,000 Michigan voters telling you "we're very upset that you're still supporting a genocide and it's affecting how we vote."

Again, don't ask *me* if I know how important this election is because I'm not running. Ask Biden. Dude's gonna blow it.

I really have no words for what it means to watch 100,000 people vote "present," in a primary, for a swing state you NEED to have in the general and then say to yourself "I could demand my candidate change his ways before Trump wins this, but naw, fuck that, I'm going to go yell at randos online and insist they change the votes of 100,000 strangers in Michigan."

This, makes sense to you folks? Really? Could not be me.

On one hand, I kind of hate the phrase "late-stage capitalism" because it implies that this is not always what capitalists seek to do, and that we've never been in a situation where they've captured the state/states to create hell on earth for profit - and man, history does not agree with that position.

Otoh, we're running out of planet and either capitalism goes or literally billions of people are gonna die and right soon. It's late-stage SOMETHING.

@schrotthaufen yeah, maybe "death capitalism" or something. "ecocide capitalism." I dunno, but late-stage implies to me that people think it's going to end on its own. I dunno, maybe I'm just being too particular.

Look, I need you to plug into reality here for a moment or what we're talking about is gonna keep being two different things:

Are your leaders capitalists? Then they mean to genocide you; if they're fascists, it might be directly, otherwise they probably just plan to boil you to death in never ending waves of climate catastrophe fueled crisis events. They will of course, be dead by then b/c they are very old.

You can't starve this beast, rich ppl own everything already; including your states.

And honestly? Applying a Yomi-layer one analysis of capitalism, taught to you by capitalists, isn't really going to help here.

We're at a stage of capitalism where giant pools of capital, have determinative power over both markets, and states. They are no longer making a product, not really. They are no longer particularly depended on you agreeing to give them money for a good or service.

This is all financialization and corporate recapture now. You cannot starve this beast; it just takes.

What do you think privatization, really is? What do you think public-private partnerships are? Isn't subsidies literally your government, giving (theoretically) your public money, to rich people and corporations?

I'm not saying boycotts and lifestyle changes are worthless; I'm just saying they're not an ultimate answer.

Rich folks and the politicians they buy, have rigged the way our societies work, in such a way to make opting out of the capitalism that's killing us, individually, impossible.
