I could see that happening. The guy clearly thinks he's normal, just got some weird politics planted in him because he's on reddit a lot. Why? There isn't anything there...
Just the same procedural outpost buildings and encounters everywhere. No matter if you're out in the sticks or next to new atlantis, you're gonna get "abandoned refinery" with 20 bland pirates in it. Literally had a guy tell me how he is hiding at the edge of the settled systems from the debt collectors and how he didn't think anyone would find him here while the "random encounter" ship landed right next to his hideout.
