proof of concept works... today i am going to write the most unhinged code of my career to date

(im porting *just* the LC_COLLATE parts of glibc's locale support to the esp32; the esp32's mmu has just enough free pages to do the mmap-ing required)

im still 50/50 on whether or not this is gonna work out at all. but if it does then it's gonna be sick. not even rockbox has locale-specific text sorting.

(notice the lowercase artist name sorted correctly amongst the title case names; a simple byte value sort won’t do this)

@mntmn that's actually my new drive, it's sata! got recognised fine, and i was able to write to it no problem

(also qq whilst you're here: this module doesn't spit anything out over uart before getting to the boot device, right?)

it works!!! i put the fancy new module into the laptop i made and it works!!!

....aaaaand i broke something. i'm *so* good at computers.

old module still boots so i've not knocked out the screen or anything by accident. much to investigate. hopefully attempting to put stuff on the internal emmc did not cause problems, that chip looks *so* annoying to desolder if it comes to that.

i am using all my willpower to work out what’s going wrong *first*, before taking to this with a soldering iron to make it boot from emmc
