charging happily after a solid afternoon to test listening :)

i believe the electronics aspect of the design is now done? kinda wild. what a milestone!!

spent all afternoon dealing with what i thought was a qfn soldering issue, it was actually a short to ground elsewhere, broke a connector and pulled up a trace when trying to debug that.

i scream.

there should be a linux phone vendor that isn’t sketchy. that would be cool.

@pixx yeah! the grey chassis is a giveaway (it’s usually black) also the purple heatsink and motherboard. and the usb c charging.

i think i will take a month more than planned to finalise hardware. nothing in firmware is blocked in the meantime, and it lets me make sure a couple more things are *just* right. e.g getting rid of the tant caps is nice ethically, and it gives us more time to get some real world prototype usage

i think i have a much better working understanding of impedance now! hooray!

also learnt that macbook pros have fairly powerful amps, reform has a less noisy amp than anything else i have on hand, and ipod classic amp actually pretty shithouse lol

@mntmn a custom case makes a lot of neat options available. e.g. a nice spot to put battery packs, giving you an inbuilt ups.
