This Acer has hands down the best ever monochrome screen I've ever seen on a laptop, it's a triple supertwist nematic LCD, the clarity is absolutely beautiful ๐
I have just the mouse for this! ๐
Epson PC-386 Note A update:
I got the original hard drive working, whoop!
It has an original install of MS-DOS 3.3, so I'll be preserving that. I've switched out the drive for a CF card, currently installing the Japanese PC-9800 version of MS-DOS 6.20.....
Genius GM-7!
A little Saturday retro computing 'hack':
Usb floppy drives from places like Amazon, only write HD 1.44MB disks, have you ever wanted to write a DD 720k disk on a modern computer easily, without something like a Greaseweazle?
Get yourself a Dell MPF82E, it has a USB port

@foone really sorry to hear this, you're crazy talented and any employer would be lucky to have you! Good luck with the job search my friend.
Another retro project to check out, I'll be building one of these (or five!). Very simple and easy to make and use - SD Card to Parallel Port Adapter(s) and MS-DOS Driver.

Sneaky peak of my new retro collection additions: 8088 and NEC V30 machines.
๐ค Fingers crossed they're delivered safely ๐ค
Just wow, what an absolutely amazing result! ๐
We Were Livin'!
@foone yep, it's the original 16bit game on 64bit Windows, I actually made my first proper YouTube video on how to do this earlier today.

Microsoft Golf (1.0 - 1993) installs fully and works perfectly with sound in Windows 11.
Just saw the new McDonald's advert on TV, anyone else spotted this IBM? ๐
Does anyone know any brand and model numbers of early 90's PC VGA monitors, that are switchable between, black and white, amber, green or colour? I had one with my first 386 computer and this feature is the only thing I can remember about it, I'd love another.
This funky retro curio turned up today, now I need to decide what computer to test it in, I'm thinking of Pentium 100, which is from '94/95 when this card was made?
I also need to give it a really good clean up.
@foone aside from the notorious head issues, there's a lot out there that just need cap replacements, I know I have one at least that needs this - I need to get around to it!
Obsessed with Vintage / Retro tech - I collect, repair, upgrade retro Laptops, Desktop Computers, Consoles, unusual tech. Also love Gaming and Cats ๐ธhttps://linktr.ee/gammitin
