@pcottle Hi Peter, I appreciate every step towards interoperability, but I’m counting from the day Threads launched publicly, since it was supposed to be a federated platform from the beginning. @Crab22 Mastodon does not track your location. The news displayed is the same for everyone using the English language.

It's wild how social media outside of the fediverse has deteriorated. You have followers, but if your post doesn't please some opaque algorithm, they'll never see what you post. You have to avoid certain words to please the algorithm. If you refresh the page good luck finding the same posts again. And people put up with it.

@hipsterelectron There is a spec that Mastodon is built on, it’s called ActivityPub. If you believe something isn’t outlined enough in the spec I recommend getting in touch with the Social Community Group at the W3C which is responsible for maintaining it.
