I see Fedi is having a normal one again, logged in and literally the first post I see:

“If you think ISPs shouldn’t be able to arbitrarily block websites to make the internet safer, you should get [very graphic description of multiple murder methods, involving acid among other things]”

So… I kinda don’t feel safe now? But luckily this person will be okay with their internet access being cut off, so win-win?

Looking for serious advice: how to be less online?

My job is 100% remote and online, so that’s already 8 hours per day.

My boyfriend lives in another city, so most of the time we communicate via the internet too.

Almost all my hobbies involve using a computer, often looking up documentation and datasheets, which sneakily invites a lot of random distractions. Because of that, I feel overwhelmed and my attention span is taking a hit after hit.

Do you have any tips? I thought about making offline copies of stuff I use the most (like docs) and spend more time outside with a laptop/tablet. Anything else?

I feel like a few more years living like I am now, and I end up like Chuck McGill, ripping out cables from the walls.
