   I see Fedi is having a normal one again, logged in and literally the first post I see:

   “If you think ISPs shouldn’t be able to arbitrarily block websites to make the internet safer, you should get [very graphic description of multiple murder methods, involving acid among other things]”

   So… I kinda don’t feel safe now? But luckily this person will be okay with their internet access being cut off, so win-win?

     @gray @spook @adiz those same people also think it will never happen to them, or take part in the same behaviors or worse. They just use Google docs instead to spread dirt, see furries as an example.

     @Pawlicker @gray @adiz I try to stay out of all this as much as I can, I just want to post old computers, eugh... But I won't lie, I saw this very thing happening.
     Once I had people spreading weird rumors about me, because I am from Poland, and apparently being polish automatically makes me a homophobe somehow

     @adiz @spook I was just reading a thread on Hacker News with a lot of people defending Hurricane Electric blocking Kiwi Farms so yes they do.

     @spook @pinguicula 1) Expecting everything to be sunshine and rainbows is equally childish, if not more. Getting a message straight to the point is simply more effective that trying to find roundabout ways to not hurt anyone's feelings.
     2) Slurs are just a generalizations, crafted from observing the group's behavior. If one takes great offense in them, chances are they are responsible for said behavior as well. A wise man doesn't let his labels fully defind himself.
     3) Believe it or not, this is the case for me as well. I see no problem interacting and exchanging favors with "undesirables", and there's quite a few I respect. But said respect takes not being a part of hivemind eating itself inside out.

     @mint @pinguicula it's not about my sensitivity really.
     1) It's simply childish
     2) I feel like making this whole issue about one group of people and generalizng them using slurs derails the conversation and drags it down
     3) I know trans people whom I really like and respect. Some of them follow me here. Subjecting them to slurs in a convo like this one feels really unnecessary.

     I don't use a lot of badspeak; but I've also learned not to get onto anyone or block people or scream at people for using it. If you read past it, you'll learn a lot about peoples' legitimate frustrations. And by interacting with them, but keeping your own personal standards in check, you'll be harassed and blocked by the other half of the fediverse ... the peanut gallery and peanut adjacent ... problem really solves itself honestly.

     A lot of those people don’t see that the views opposing them come from something. Nobody just wakes up and says “ya know what, I sure do hate them minorities” unless they’re stunted. That part of fedi acting the way they do is why I named them. It’s behavior that’s been observed. Trying to tiptoe around it and ignore the elephant in the room is lunacy.
