@nixCraft The example with cat is less efficient (one extra process), but it is more composable (if you wanted to put something before the grep, you could)

@mntmn They have something like this in Sweden; it’s called BankID, and while most people use a mobile app, there is also (IIRC) a desktop implementation using a smartcard and a USB-powered reader.

@foone If one assumes 1/1/0 as the birthdate of Jesus; this guy had a different one (a few years earlier, I think)

@foone TempleOS uses (its creator’s idea of) the birthdate of Jesus as its epoch. Which makes me wonder if the North Korean version of Linux has been modified to use the God-Emperor’s birthdate as its one.
