In my experence American companies happen to actually be somewhat laid back in regards to sanctions (we use 100% M$ software stack at my day job, it still gets updates and support) while European ones treat them with Stasi's vigor. -

@Deiru The thing is, if a state actor wanted to contribute malicious code, no one would've prevented one from doing so white pretending to be some John Smith from Arkansas. This already happened with both the xz backdoor and University of Minnesota contributing buggy code to the kernel, in both cases this was uncovered post factum. Ironically, thanks to the recent endeavours of @marcan who wanted to commit patches under his vtuber persona's name, it's even easier now since the real name policy is essentially deprecated. -

Recently upgraded it with two NVMes in striped zfs, and during that had to circumcise the x1 slot with a Makita drill so that I could fit the secondary NIC in there as I had to relocate it from the x16 slot now used by the drives. Broke one of the ground pins, but everything works still. -
