@Gargron hi, I added my website to the list (and clicked on Save button) but if I visit my profile and click on toots where I've linked something from my blog I don't see anything 🤔

@Gargron Mastodon's Translate feature uses DeepL, which uses AI to provide the translation. Does it break the new rule or is it a special case?

@pixelfed where can I find the download link for the iOS version of Pixelfed? The version I have will expire in 5 days and I can’t find the app anymore in the TestFlight, nor it’s available in the App Store. Thanks

@Gargron question (assuming you are talking about those in Explore -> People), are you able to track those followed using that feature or are you counting the general number (ie: number or users followed in any way) ? Thanks

You know what would be cool to have? A @pixelfed client made by @dimillian but open source like @IceCubesApp (I’m absolutely not trying to give you ideas 🙈)

@Gargron that lens is absolutely fantastic! I’ve used it with multiple digital cameras (5D and 6D mk II) and it has a peculiar vibe and bokeh. Congratulations for the picture too!

Sharing my IP address (which I can decide to hide) is not the same as sharing the exact username of a person who viewed a post.

Also: trusting the host is not the same as trusting an author.

The thing that a story author should be entitled to know exactly who their audience is, it’s highly debatable.

This is another good reason (at least for me) to keep stories entirely disabled.

But thanks anyway for clarifying your position.

@dansup @pixelfed that's one of the things I hate most about Instagram.

No other social platform lets you see who viewed your posts. This is something anti privacy.

At least the user should have a right to opt-out. One reason more to keep stories disabled.

Please reconsider introducing this anti privacy feature 🙏🏻

@Gargron will ever be possible in the future to at least know the percentage of users who opted in for the full text search?

@Gargron out of curiosity: do current third party clients need to do anything particular to fetch results (like using a specific API) or is it all server based and normal search is fine? Thanks

@pixelfed I would consider donating if apps were open source and if other services like a random website every now and then, a secure message app etc… were all cut off and funds and resources were concentrated on Pixelfed only.

I think defederating Threads is a huge missed opportunity for Mastodon to grow.

Imagine interacting with their users and letting them know that: you scroll posts without ads, your timeline is in chronological order, your client doesn’t spy on you, you only see what you want and no other content is pushed to your timeline, etc…

if I was a Threads users, I would move to Mastodon as soon as I find out 🙂
