Japanese voice actors in anime:
-went to voice acting college(well established from after WW2)
-very professional
-sings theme songs, ads, promos(multi-talented)
-doesn't involve personal politics to avoid alienating fans and damaging the product they're a part of
-ignores hate
-goes beyond what is considered normal in the west
-is an actual career path and not a side-job
There's also the translators who insert their own jokes and politics into a dub. Not everything can be translated, so reworking jokes and puns is a given.
I can count on one hand the good dubs I've listened to.

Even the voice actor that played Kiryu in the Yakuza 1 dub back in the day sounded much more convincing.

@DW2 Two episodes are entirely about gay relationships:
-One with a minor character and his faggot lover that lasts almost an hour with no actual interaction with the MC except a small flashback, and very little to do with the source material(the game) except the character's name.
-Then a teenage lesbian race-mixing episode.(Literal DLC from when Druckman harassed the two main writers out of the company)
That's TWO episodes out of 9 dedicated to gay degeneracy.
In season 2 they'll tackle TLOU2-an universally hated game by anyone who enjoyed the first game.
The first episode will be about a tranny-looking, roided-out woman killing Joel with a golf-club as revenge for him killing her doctor dad.
Zog-box enjoyers are going to hate that so much that they'll drop it.
