@MMA main issue? Its owned by Meta. (Facebook, Instagram). They claim its end to end encrypted, however its not open source, and it's tied to a phone number. Obviously, we need to trust someone at some point when it comes to what tech we use, but Meta isn't one of the companies I personally trust.

- don't use #whatsapp. Use #threema, #xmpp, #signal, or if you must, even #matrix.

- stay away from the "cloud". It is just someone else's computer.

- be smart about what you do and say online.

- share your knowledge with others.

There are so many groups I want to follow but I refuse to get #telegram. For the love people, use more privacy preserving messenger apps that don't require a phone number. #XMPP, #Threema, or even #Matrix. Heck, I'd be happy with #IRC if its a public group.
