     Signal requires a phone number which is a deal breaker for me. I have accounts on XMPP; Matrix; Session and Jami. I'd use Threema but they won't allow me to use just the desktop versiion ad I din't use Android or iOS.

     @MMA main issue? Its owned by Meta. (Facebook, Instagram). They claim its end to end encrypted, however its not open source, and it's tied to a phone number. Obviously, we need to trust someone at some point when it comes to what tech we use, but Meta isn't one of the companies I personally trust.

     My bestie keeps bugging me about what’s app. I don’t have the energy to explain why I don’t use it because I don’t use hardly any apps. What is the main issue with that platform?

     Good enough explanation for me. I’ll talk to my BFF about it later. She’s annoyed with me because I won’t use any messaging apps especially that one. I am off FB for 11 years deliberately now, so this WhatsApp seems to be just another version of the same old snake—no thanks!
