“High levels of exposure to some PFAS chemicals have been linked to higher cholesterol, liver and immune system damage, hypertension & pre-eclampsia

David Ho (davidho@mastodon.world)'s status on Tuesday, 23-Jan-2024 19:04:43 JST David Ho This line from Don’t Look Up perfectly encapsulates what is special about Earth, and why we should fight for it.
Evolution of intelligent life requires a planet that’s continuously habitable for 3 or 4 billion years.
That such a planet exists is a miracle.

Record-breaking extreme weather events of 2023 are expected at this level of warming.
The impacts on people are more severe than expected.
To keep things from getting worse, we need to stop burning fossil fuels and speed up adaptation.

David Ho (davidho@mastodon.world)'s status on Wednesday, 23-Aug-2023 18:56:25 JST David Ho Even if CO₂ emissions decreased annually as much as during the pandemic lockdown, we wouldn't achieve our climate targets.
